Can I handle this 5er? Am I Crazy??

I'm looking at a Montana 3160RL, dry weight is11935#, Carrying weight is 4065# and hitch weight is 2520#! I will be putting bags on very soon! GVW of this trailer is 16K. I will be towing this with what is in my sig. with 3.73 gears. Supposedly my truck capacity for towing is 13050 lbs. and don't plan to max out trailer weight and keep it at or just over the 1350 GCWR. It's single rear wheel with the new BFG All Terrains, "E". Am I crazy??? This would be the biggest I've ever towed. The power should be fine, and if it isn't, then its time for a programmer, which it's NEVER had! I need help before I pull the trigger on this trailer. What do you guys think??

It isn't the pulling, it's more the stopping. I am pulling more with my truck only difference is the G56 and I have 3 trailer axles with the associated braking power of 6 wheels under the trailer. Take your time and learn good technique. Keep an eye on transmission temps and good luck.

Not sure how long the tranny will hold up with those weights.

So, Am I pushing it? I will be replacing my old brake controller with a new Prodigy P2 controller. Also, how are you guys using your OD? Are you staying in the pedal or off of it going in and out of OD?
The overall length of this trailer is 35.6 feet, interior is 31.6...

That's a lot of trailer for your truck. No OD.

Good advice on the O/D, I drop to fifth when I'm pulling hard....never more than 1/3 throttle in 6th in my truck.....The trans is the weak link in these trucks.

I drug a 35' fifth wheel around with my 91.5 W250 5 speed without too much trouble. The 3.07 gears kind of made starting out difficult. Ya, stopping was a bear.

stopping would be an issue, a exhaust brake would help, and twins would help pulling.

Anybody using the ATS Trans? And what do you think of them?
