Replacing it is up to you, with new contact it will likely go for quite awhile and start easier again. It's a pretty straight forward job to do.

I would suspect the starter contacts are worn out and need to be replaced, pretty cheap and easy fix, Geno's Garage and LarryB's sell the kits.

The lamp out light could be dirty contacts on your taillights and brake lights. I get that at least once a year, i pull the bulbs and give the bulb contacts a little sanding along with the socket...
