Keep an eye on the tread Hammy, with them being winter tires they may lose chunks of tread in the heat. They do look good though.

Thanks. So far these tires are silent, and smooth. I did notice the rubber is a little harder than regular tires. I guess that will contribute to the chipping you mentioned.

Yup. I could easily make one in the garage, but the cost of the steel is what's holding me back right now.

With your kind of money, you could build me one too...minus the stacks.

Oh...whatever!!! I am a poor public servant.

I started looking at plasma cutters online after reading this thread. I better stop now before I hit the "confirm purchase" button.

Wink

I got the bed on eBay for $650. It came off the same year and model as mine. A few cans of paint, and new lights it was good to go.

That's a bargain! I'm thininking it will cost me maybe almost that for the steel. Then I have to build it, paint it and wire it. I could probably get $200-300 for my bed to help with the cost.

I have seen a few on Craigslist that are under $1000 around here. If you can do the metal work just look for an old one that needs some TLC. I'm sure after the little bit of work I put into mine I could sell it for a lot more.
