Default What's It Worth???

Dad called me today and asked about his motorhome. It's a 1986 Southwind and I think it's 26' in length. It has the GM 454 gasser engine with about 65000 miles on it, and everything works in it..........at least the last time I spent the night in it last summer!!!! Just trying to get some ideas here guys, so be gentle!!!!!! Thanks.

Yeah that's the best thing to do, do a search within the area and see what you come up with.

Heck I can't even get 9K for my 2001 5th wheel and I only have about 3000 miles on it.

Look on ebay motors and see what they're bringing.
6-8 grand sounds reasonable, depending on condition.
The 454 is worth more than a ferd engine, rumor is they're a little kinder at the pump.
I drove 100 miles to look at a similar model last year for $5500 but the roof had major water damage, that's another important factor.
Of course, the more gas goes up, the more RV's come down.
Ours will be on the market in a few more months, but I'm a little concerned.
