Default decisions...decisions...

Coming to an understanding...
If I'm gonna keep hauling houses, and I'm pretty sure I am, I need trucks that can handle it with minimal issues!!

The 07 is pos'd to be ready monday with a heavy built tranny, triple disk low stall, towing valve body...so I HOPE its up to the job now!?!

The 96, despite a hd rebuild is slipping under hard pull again, so as much as I love my 12 valve, I'm wondering if the 47re will ever handle the work load....
Head gasket leaking coolant & lifter cover leaking oil.

The 99 wants another vp, heater core, radio, a/c leaks somewhere, and I wonder if the 48re would hold up more than a few weeks if I had to fall back on it...

I've been able to keep rolling by utilizing all 3 trucks, but if the 07 is good now, I just need one good backup, and maybe its not either of the trucks I have now.....

Found an '01 f350 f....f....or.....d...4x4 Lariat LE... $14k
Looked at a super fine '10 ram limited 2500, 200k mi, for $10k more.
Would be a sweeet daily driver and fully capable as 2nd in line....but I think he's a bit too proud of it..

Decisions, decisions....

Well....no.
Wasn't aware he had a problem.
Unless you're referring to the freightliner FL-whatever series he had...?
So...put an eaton 8spd in the 96 ?

Clunk, Thought you were going to say he rolled it off a cliff (or shot it).

I don't remember whether it had a B engine or C engine.

We had an FL70 with a VP 24valve in irrigation. It got the job done, but turned 2700 rpm to run 65mph and bounced everything off the seat, including the driver if you weren't belted in.
JFJ saw it once.
Tried to convince them to put air bags under the rear but they wouldnt spend the $$.

I wouldn't want less than a 8.3 in a mid class personally for what I'm pulling.
We had those for hauling concrete septic tanks when I was in that business. Did well.

200-500 miles a day, and sometimes 200 miles home after a long one, comfort is an issue for me.
Space too. There are some extended cab and crew cab mid class trucks, but they're kinda scarce around these parts.

The dually is a nice size for the maneuverability and weight and visibility when backing up to a building.
Got the 07 back yesterday. Get everything swapped over this weekend and see how she holds up.
Its got heavy duty clutches, a few extra ones, revmax valve body and a triple disk low stall converter.
The 6.7 handles it pretty well...its just the tranny..
