Is it the electronic transducer, or is it the drive adapter that is sandwiched between the transducer and the t-case?

its the whole piece. My buddy was helping pull the tranny, and he thought that would be a good handle for picking up the t-case. I guess 5 havnt looked at it close enough to figure out that is two pieces. I Epoxied it back together, but when I re-installed it, it doesn't work. I dont know if I lost some thing, but the gears dont seem to mesh very well.

The electronic piece, if I recall correctly, is somewhat expensive. I know that the gear ratio adapter is very hard to find at a dealer. The part number for the adapter is not catalogued by Dodge anymore. I had to have it special ordered when the dealer found out what the part actually was. They said that technicians from the 1980's had never replaced the adapter before. It may just be better to go to a speedometer/transmission shop and see if they have a 1 input:1.38 output with the same threads.

There is an outfit in Texas called Gilmor-Global that makes the gear box to your specs. About $75 is what the last one cost me not too long ago. Do a search, I posted the info on here before.

The numbers are stamped on the housing. You will need a magnifying glass to see it if your like me. With that number and if you knew how far off your speedo was, the guys will make you a corrected one as they did for me.

There are three parts that make up that assembly.

- Sensor p/n ~ 5252 438
- Adapter Assembly p/n ~ 4428549(E) (1.3846 to 1 ratio) There are a total of six (6) different adapters to be had pending the tire size. Post your tire size to get the correct part number.
- Pinion p/n ~ 4329814 - 14 tooth, 4329815 - 15 tooth, and 4329816 - 16 tooth. This part is stuck up inside the transfer case so you probably didn't damage that. Be sure to check the tooth count if you need the exact part number.

NOTE: These numbers are from the Dodge Dealer parts book dated August, 1992 so they may have been superseded. Still, they are the correct part numbers.

Hope this helps.
